In the Summer of 2000, I made one of those "trips of a lifetime" to
Alaska with my step-dad, Jim Crawford. We fished the Talichulitna
River for King Salmon, rainbows, Dolly Vardens, and
grayling. We also fished Spruce Creek, the Russian River,
the Kenai, and Willow Creek. This 8' 6" nine weight was built for
King Salmon. While the largest King I landed was 35 pounds,
larger fish were hooked.
This rod is hollow built and features a 4.5"
removable fighting butt. The cane is darkly
flamed. The grip is a Half-Wells. Wraps are deep green,
almost black-green, with blood red accent wraps between each guide, and
intermediate wraps on the butt section.
